Sunrise Cafe COVID 19 Response – Update and Request For Volunteers from FISH

Friends and volunteers,

Sunrise Cafe’s take away “brown bag” breakfast is in full swing.  We had a porta-potty delivered today for guests to use while the Cafe is serving breakfast.  It will be locked when breakfast ends.

We are so very grateful for the contributions of staff and volunteers in the preparation of the take away breakfasts and thank you all for your support for the Cafe.

While the Cafe can operate with just a few volunteers, our friends at FISH need you if you have time to volunteer. They have implemented new safety precautions for their volunteers.

FISH (Food In Service to the Homebound) is welcoming new volunteers to pack and/or deliver groceries between 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

They also need volunteers to pick up donated food items from BJ’s in North Haven between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00 AM, Monday through Friday.

If you are interested in volunteering, please email sarah.welinsky@gmail.com with your name and availability.

Until we resume normal operations, we continue to ask for donations of juice boxes, granola/breakfast bars and individual serving cereal packages.  Donations can be dropped off at the Cafe between 7:30 am and 9:30 am Monday through Friday.
